Webelos Den (4th Grade)
The Webelos Den is for boys that are currently in 4th grade (usually 9 or 10 years old).
Webelos is the first year of an 18 month program, which prepares them for Boy Scouts.
The Webelos program starts to prepare them for boy scouts by gradually changing from an "adult-run" den to a "boy-run" patrol, similar to boy scouts.
After completing the Webelos year, scouts advance to Arrow of Light before bridging to a boy scout troop.
The Webelos Uniform
Every Cub Scout should wear his uniform to all Cub Scouting activities, including den and pack meetings, hikes, outings, and any activities done with members of the Den or Pack unless informed otherwise. The "Class A" uniform is required and includes the following:
Blue Cub Scout Shirt - All Webelos (4th Grade) wear the blue short-sleeve shirt.
Webelos Hat - Worn by both Webelos
Webelos Neckerchief - Worn by both Webelos
Webelos Slide - Worn by both Webelos
Cub Scout belt - can be worn by all Cub Scout ranks
Uniform Patches
In addition to the Class A uniform, there are patches that need to be purchased that go onto the uniform:
Western Los Angeles County Council (WLACC) Patch - goes on left shoulder
BSA Purple World Crest Patch - goes above the left pocket
1910 World Crest Ring Emblem (Optional) - goes around Purple World Crest
Pack Number Patches - You will receive a Pack 580 patch from the Pack upon signing up, and goes on left shoulder under WLACC patch
Webelos Colors - goes on right shoulder under American Flag
Shoulder Loops - go on top of each shoulder
