The Bear Den has a few fun activities coming up in the next few weeks!

In order to complete requirements for the World Conservation Award, we will be attending the Kids Fishing Day at Castaic Lake on May 6.  This will help us to earn the A Bear Goes Fishing Adventure loop.

Our next den meeting is May 19.  At this meeting we will be doing activities to complete Bear Picnic Basket and Beat of the Drum electives!

Several of our scouts will be competing at the District Wide Cub Cup event on May 20 at Hart Park!  We are excited to be competing in this event for the first year!

It has been a fun year!  We can't wait for the pack End of the Year Camp out in June, and then the excitement of starting Webelos!

Baloo and Bear Picnic Basket
At our April den meeting, the scouts were busy completing the requirements for the Baloo the Builder Adventure as well as starting the Bear Picnic Basket Adventure.

The boys built adorable bird houses, which fulfilled half of the requirement to build 2 wood projects.  In addition, several of the boys were able to count this activity toward earning the World Conservation Award.

Each scout brought copies of 2 recipes to this meeting.  Each boy was able to compile a recipe book of all of these recipes, including decorating each page.  This helps to fulfill one of the activities for Bear Picnic Basket.

Our den is busy putting final touches on our pinewood derby cars as well!  We can't wait for race day!

We will be finishing Bear Picnic Basket at our May den meeting!  Can't wait to see everyone there!

Beat Of the Drum
At our March Den meeting the scouts began working on the Beat of the Drum elective belt loop.  We built totem poles and learned about the local Tatavium native American culture.  The boys enjoyed using their pocket knives to add carving details to the totem poles as well as decorating with colors.

To complete Bear Necessities, we also practiced setting up a tent together.

We also had a lot of fun being silly as we practiced the "Invisible Bench" skit, which we will present at the March Pack meeting!

We will be completing the Beat of the Drum activities at our May den meeting!
