Scouting for Food
In the Scout Oath we promise to "help other people at all times" and acted on that in 2021 with our 1st annual Holiday food drive in December 2021 as well our Easter/Spring Food Drive in April 2022! Proceeds went to local food pantries which offer free food and personal hygiene items to those less fortunate or experiencing hardship.
Our last three food drives have been a huge success, with the support of our wonderful, giving community.
OUR WINTER 2023 HOLIDAY FOOD DRIVE IS IN FULL SWING!
Pack580 Scouts are collecting food now through December 15th. These donations will be taken to a local Castaic community, Paradise Ranch, for the residents to "shop" from on Sunday, December 16th. At this event, we will also be hosting a pancake breakfast, hot cocoa, a holiday craft and a visit from Santa for ALL!!
If you are interested in donating towards this community outreach endeavor, whether with food or monetary donations, please reach out to scoutpack580@gmail.com, All monetary donations will be used to buy fresh produce, eggs and dairy items the day of the event.
If we can all commit to help with this cause, we can positively affect someone's life. Our scouts are acting on their scout oath "to help other people at all times" and practicing the scout law by being "helpful" and "kind." We can do this... together!
