Calling All Scouts! Scouting 2016-2017 About To Begin!

2016-2017 Scouting With Castaic Pack 580 Begins With The Ice Cream Social/First Day Of School
Pack 580 had a busy summer with many fun activities to keep the scouts active and most importantly, have fun! After a really great end of the year camp out in June, we had a bowling day at Santa Clarita Lanes, a scout sleepover at the Lancaster Jethawks game, the "Excellent Sriracha Factory Tour" in Irwindale, Ice Skating night at the Ice Station, and finally, Beach Day at Carpinteria State Beach. In addition, many scouts attended Bill Hart Summer Camp, where they not only had a great time, they also got a head start on the upcoming year by earning a few scout achievements and awards! If your scout participated in 3 or more of these summer activities, then they earned the summer patch!
After a busy summer flew by, it is almost time for school to start, which also means that it is almost time for a new year of scouting! Every year right before school starts, we like to meet any potential scouts that are interesting in joining our Pack for the upcoming year.
Both Live Oak and Northlake Elementary PTA hosts an Ice Cream Social on Wednesday August 10th. This is a great opportunity to recruit new scouts to our pack! If you know of any boy entering 1st through 5th grade that may be interesting in joining Pack 580, please have his parents visit our table at Northlake (starting at 1:45 pm) or Live Oak (starting at 2 pm). It would be great to be able to "Make the Pack Grow!"
Also, if you have not already done so, please Like our Public Page on Facebook and please share any links throughout the year that are posted about Pack 580 looking for new scouts to join. Sometimes, your share can reach parents that you may not have even realized would be interested in getting their child involved in scouting. Doing this is free, takes only a moment to do, and helps the Pack reach as many parents as possible to hopefully "Make The Pack Grow!"

Pack 580 is located in Castaic, CA - bringing together boys from 1st grade through 5th grade. We hold monthly Pack meetings with all members of the pack, as well as Den meetings, where each group (1st Grade - Tigers, 2nd Grade - Wolves, 3rd Grade - Bears, 4th Grade - Weblos, and 5th Grade - Arrow of Light) gets together for fun activities, developing friendships that will last a lifetime!
